Day 1, Sessions 1 & 2: Presenting with Influence

Overview:
Challenging misleading public speaking techniques, debunking communication myths, and using an innovative science-based methodology, your students will learn exactly what their audience needs from them when they present – and how to implement it immediately to achieve influence.

  • The real issues when it comes to presenting
  • The four neurological thinking preferences
  • Identifying how your brain processes information

  • How to organize your thinking and clearly define your goals
  • Understanding diverse thinking preferences & what your audience needs
  • Refining your approach to suit diverse audiences
Day 2, Session 1: Achieving Clarity of Thought

Overview:
Leaders have a responsibility to communicate their position with extreme clarity to consistently achieve action across their teams and organization. It can be quite challenging to explain projects and initiatives to diverse audiences, but we’ve developed a framework your students can apply to their thought processes to quickly get to a clear point every time they speak and write.

Topics:

  • The link between clarity of thinking and influential leadership
  • Why presenting data is not enough to achieve action
  • Using focused conceptual thinking to set the tone with your audience
  • Recognizing the advantages of benefit placement
  • Techniques for removing the extraneous and achieving focus

  • Discerning the difference between a subject and a conceptual point
  • How to accurately state your position using language to instill confidence in your leadership direction
  • Applying clarity of thinking to multiple modalities
Day 2, Session 2: Writing with Influence

Overview:
Written communication is often misinterpreted and doesn't always address the needs of diverse audiences. By truly understanding how readers process information, your students will learn an approach that works across all forms of written communication, in which their writing is clear, concise, and consistently achieves action.

  • The challenges of writing and interpreting writing in complex environments
  • The importance of tone when communicating with your audience

  • A science-based methodology for written communication
